The Tregs as Medicine Symposium
September 26, 2025 | The Westin Hotel, Meguro Tokyo
The Tregs as Medicine: Tolerance and InTolerance Symposium will bring together leading scientists and clinicians to examine how regulatory T cells (Tregs) and tolerance mechanisms can shape the future of biologics and vaccines.
This year’s program will feature new insights into the growing role of Tregs, including a keynote from Dr. Shimon Sakaguchi on the therapeutic potential of targeting Tregs in cancer and autoimmunity.
Additional presentations will explore advances in immune profiling and antigen processing, among many more, that deepen our understanding of tolerance pathways and their translational impact.

Celebrating Sakaguchi
Dr. Shimon Sakaguchi will open the session with a plenary talk. We are grateful to our co-organizers, Dr. Ken Ishii (Tokyo Medical University), Dr. Cevayir Coban (Tokyo Medical Univeristy), Dr. David Scott (USUHS, retired), and Dr. Amy Rosenberg (Formerly EpiVax, Currently Regeneron).
Experts on Tregs and their role in medicine will contribute to the celebration: Dr. Kawakami from Kyoto University, Dr. Trzonkowski from PolTREG, Dr. Santambrogio from Weill Cornell, Dr. Alessandra Franco from UCD, Dr. Olaf Rotzschke from A*Star, Dr. Ishii from U Tokyo, Dr. Reche from University of Madrid, Mark Turco MD (CMO) from Gentibio, and more. Our newly appointed CSO, Dr. Vibha Jawa will be in attendance; this will be a great chance to get to know her. And of course, we can’t forget the 17th annual Westin Immunogenicity Seminar on September 25! Â
We’ll be in Tokyo the week leading up to the seminars, let me know if you’d like to meet.
