Swan Tan, Graduate Research Assistant at iCubed (URI), is the recipient of a travel award granted by the USDA-NIFA. She will attend the 10th edition of the Options for the Control of Influenza (OPTIONS X) Conference, hosted by the International Society for Influenza and Other Respiratory Virus Diseases (ISIRV). The event will be held in Singapore from August 28 through September 1.

ABOUT OPTIONS X:
ISIRV is an independent and international scientific professional society promoting the prevention, detection, treatment, and control of influenza and other respiratory virus diseases. The Society has lead responsibility for organizing OPTIONS X, the largest international conference exclusively devoted to influenza prevention, control and treatment, including seasonal flu and pandemic preparedness. The event takes place every 3-4 years.
This premier conference is designed for leading virologists, infectious diseases, pulmonary/critical care specialist and other clinicians, scientists, public health and epidemiology researchers and specialists, health care policy makers and government and non-government agency staff.
Attendees will have the chance to hear comprehensive, state-of-the-art scientific information for all disciplines involved in influenza prevention, control, and treatment, including seasonal and pandemic planning. The event will also provide opportunities for informal discussions and exchanging of ideas between representatives of government agencies, academia, and industry.
