Tregs as Medicine:

Tolerance and InTolerance Symposium

Friday, September 26, 2025 | 9:00 am – 6:00 pm | The Westin Hotel, Meguro, Tokyo

The inaugural Tregs as Medicine: Tolerance and InTolerance Symposium will highlight the impact of regulatory T cells (Tregs) on the future of biologics and vaccines, while honoring the pioneering work that laid the foundation for this field.

We will be celebrating the groundbreaking contributions of Distinguished Professor Sakaguchi Shimon-sama, whose original discovery of Tregs transformed the field of immunology and opened new avenues for immunotherapy. This year marks the 30th anniversary of his seminal publication in The Journal of Immunology, a milestone that we commemorate for its lasting impact on immunology research. Prof. Sakaguchi Shimon-sama will deliver the keynote presentation, setting the stage for a series of talks that demonstrate how his foundational research has evolved into breakthrough therapies advancing treatment in autoimmunity, cancer, and related areas.

This free, one-day event will bring together leading scientists and industry experts to explore how Tregs and tolerance mechanisms are influencing the future of biologics and vaccines. Sessions will highlight emerging research and real-world applications of Tregs, with a focus on their role in pathogenesis, immune modulation, and therapeutic development.

Please note: This is an in-person event with no options for virtual attendance
