This is a two-way street

Hey Hey, Hallo, Hola, Ciao, Namaste, Hello, Bonjour, Konnichiwa!

When do you do your ‘thinking’ about the day? Do you do it while running? Well, I was thinking about you guys on my runs this week. I am finally back in Providence, RI, after traveling to Tokyo, Basel and Munich, Amsterdam, Minneapolis and Seoul.

It was a whirlwind, but I got to meet you in person. If you are like me, you value the human connection – the hug, the handshake, the eye-to-eye contact. I feel fortunate to have an opportunity to travel the world and meet so many interesting people, in person (now that COVID is at bay, #VaccinesWork!). This time, many of you told me that you read my “thinking out loud” newsletter. Hey THANKS! I am grateful. Truly.

So — You know a lot about me (BTS Fan! T cell Aficionado! Love to Dance! Runner!), but what about you? I’m asking you to write me back and tell me all about you! – Biotech Scientist? Academic? Biker? Couch Potato? Parent? Kids, dogs or cats? (Send pictures!). You are passionate about … – I want to know! I’ve set up an email for you and all you have to do is click right here. Seriously! Write me back! Let’s make this a two-way conversation!

We’re still celebrating Thanksgiving and so, I THANK YOU for reading. It’s great to get to know you.

What we love about you!

Well we know ONE THING about you guys already… You are a truly generous group! Every year, you donate to charity on #GivingTuesday. How do we know? Because we match your gifts! VaxGivesBack at EpiVax is once again partnering with YOU on this #GivingTuesday.  Yes, we’re that crazy.

We will match your donations* (yes, you!) to any not-for profit* charity YOU CHOOSE in your community … Just send an email with the receipt by December 8th and we’ll handle the rest.

In other heartwarming news, we’re organizing a gift drive for kids of Clinica Esperanza/Hope Clinic (a local free clinic that we support) and AIDS Care Ocean State. If you want to join, send a child’s gift to our office. Here’s a picture of Santa at the clinic last year!

Thank you for joining us in giving back. And don’t forget to check if your company has a donation matching policy too – you could triple your impact!

*501c3 *We will match up to $250.00 per person.

AI + HI make for better vaccines

I got to go to Hwasun (Gwangju, to be precise) in South Korea last week to present on HI (Human Intelligence) and AI (you know what that is) for designing better, safer vaccines at HVIF 2023. Truly amazing event! Congrats to Joon Rhee, key instigator! Since you want to ask, here it is: …no sign of J-Hope of BTS!

And, it’s contagious! We are inspired to bring you an HI/AI conference in Providence. Come see us in our own hometown and let us show you around! Stay tuned for the dates (probably June) – right here!
