Tell us #WhatYouDidThisSummer!

Summer is here! What are you doing this summer? Send us an email (click here) to let us know! We’re working on “Improving Human Health Everywhere.” I went to Bamako in July to check in on the GAIA Vaccine Foundation program there. GAIA VF is a not-for-profit partner of EpiVax that promotes Education, Prevention, Access to Care, and Vaccines in Mali. Our latest Cervical Cancer Vaccination project (Our daughters Ourselves) just wrapped up, and GAIA just won another Gates Grand Challenges Innovation Grant! Check out the GAIA VF FB page for pictures of my trip.

In addition, members of the EpiVax team participated in a shore cleanup with Save the Bay – Narragansett Bay. Together, 43 local volunteers collected over 480 pounds of trash from the Rhode Island coast. Now, that’s teamwork!

ISPRI Open House and Colloquium

We also hosted an Open House at EpiVax HQ in Providence in June. Participants heard from immunogenicity experts Dr. Sandra Garces (Eli Lilly) and Dr. Jad Maamary (Merck). Guests were treated to a tour of the Interactive Screening and Protein Reengineering Interface tool (ISPRIfor short) by Frances Terry, Director of  Analysis, and a tour of our HQ in Providence. More information and photos can be found here.
